-True Happiness-

Today we read:

“Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Do you know that as you have your new nature in Christ, you are now decorated with meekness?

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This new creature is created in meekness, not in arrogance or pride. That’s why we must practice living the life of the Spirit and not of the flesh (Galatian 5:16-17).

This new person in Christ is decorated with meekness.

The Word of God says:

“but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But let it be the inward adorning and beauty of the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, which [is not anxious or wrought up, but] is very precious in the sight of God.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:4‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Thus, the reason why many do not manifest the new nature in Christ is because they have not updated their mind with the new information about the newness in Christ.

That is why the Bible asks us to mortify our members and also to put off the old man and put on the new. Without this, it will be difficult to inherit the earth, a promise which results in ‘True Happiness’.

“Assuming that you have really heard Him and been taught by Him, as [all] Truth is in Jesus [embodied and personified in Him], Strip yourselves of your former nature [put off and discard your old unrenewed self] which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion; And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude], And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God’s image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:21-24‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

To exercise meekness you must mortify your members otherwise you will never inherit the earth.

Remember, meekness is not weakness, so choose to be meek. True happiness is born out of meekness.

Heavenly Father, help me by Your Spirit to lust after spiritual things so that The Spirit of meekness will be visible in my character. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
