-Food for thought day 221-

• Mark 12:41-44

God’s Love is a daily sacrifice we must offer to meet the needs of others, as a sweet-smelling savour unto the Lord. The reason why it’s a sacrifice is that we do it at the expense of our own needs. The fact that we demonstrate God’s Love to people doesn’t mean we don’t have our own personal challenges that need God’s intervention. Whenever we practise God’s Love, we’re seeking God’s Kingdom first.

A great example is the widow’s mite.
The Word of God says: “And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And He called unto Him His disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭12:41-44‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This lady surrendered her last dime to God, to meet the needs of some, at the expense of her lack. She ministered to someone in need. She gave a cup of water to quench the thirst of someone that is thirsty or hungry. The Love of God was demonstrated through her actions.

Love is never selfish and is always willing to surrender its last breath for someone in need of breath (Matthew 20:26-28).

Remember: your widow’s mite is that act of love that costs you a lot of pain, but yet you choose to do it because of your love for God.

Don’t forget to daily offer your widow’s mite, for it’s a sweet-smelling fragrance unto the Lord.

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name
