-Food for thought day 111-

• Ephesians 5:2
• 1 John 3:14-16

Worship is not singing a nice song unto the Lord, but worship is a lifestyle.

The Bible says: “And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The love that Christ demonstrated to this world by giving Himself for us, while we were yet sinners, so that we may have eternal life, is the highest form of worship. That’s why the Bible calls it “… a sweet smelling fragrance”.

Every time we walk in love we are worshipping God because love is the nature of God, imparted in us when we got born again. Every time we’re not walking in love we practice idolatry, because we allow our self-ego to stand in God’s way. In other words, anything that man sets above God; it does not matter what it is, is idolatry.

That’s why when the Children of Israel were about to take hold of the promised land, God told them not to practice the worship of the nations that were in the land and He also instructed them to destroy their idols.

When we don’t walk in love, we take up the character of Satan who came to steal, kill and destroy. However God’s love for the world brings about abundant life.

“Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Remember, walking in God’s love is a form of worship because it contradicts the nature of Satan, who causes people to move into idol worship by walking in hate, bitterness, and unforgiveness.

We know we do not worship idols by walking in God’s love.

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name!
