-Food for thought 2020 day 31-

Scripture of meditation:
• Romans 1:9

The day you accepted Jesus Christ into your life, that day you had a new Master. You are no longer under the dictates of your flesh and the god of this world system, which now is controlling the children of disobedience.

“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:1-3‬ ‭KJV

This means you now live your life to please God and not yourself.

“And He died for all, so that all those who live might live no longer to and for themselves, but to and for Him Who died and was raised again for their sake.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:15‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Therefore, walking in the Spirit has nothing to do with self-effort, but it has to do with practicing the Word of God. When you live your new life in Christ, practicing the Word, you are serving God’s purpose for you and you are no more under condemnation.

“THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. [John 3:18.] For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death. For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice], [Lev. 7:37.]”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1-3‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

It’s for this reason why Paul said: “… I serve God with my Spirit….”.

How did Paul serve God with his spirit?

He did this by practicing the Word of God. For God’s Word and God are Spirit and they that serve and worship Him must do so in Spirit and in truth.

Remember: walking in the Spirit is practicing the Word of God.

Be in the Spirit!

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
