Bible Study Plan 2019

Today we read:
Judges 6-7

-Food for thought day 128-

• 2 Corinthians 9:11-13
• 1 Corinthians 9:27

It is always easy to talk than to do. God has given us all things that patterns to life and godly living. Our duty is to take advantage of what we have and do something with it.

Having said the above, you should know that not everyone will be moved by miracles and eloquent speaking, but everyone always remembers those who handle them with love irrespective of their circumstances.

This is the reason why walking in love is not an option, but a lifestyle. Having a profession is good, but a profession without deeds disqualifies you from receiving your reward.

“You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭9:11-13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The above text speaks of giving from a heart of gratitude out of love to the saints in need. But what is so touching is that they expressed their love for the poor saints with their actions (2 Corinthians 9:13). You can not say you love God, without demonstrating love. Many will become a castaway, (will not receive their reward) because they don’t practice what they profess.

“But [like a boxer] I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] and subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming to others the Gospel and things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit [not stand the test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit].”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭9:27‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

There is a reward to all who will practice God’s law of love in every aspect of life. That is why it will take discipline and a dedicated person to keep walking in love, irrespective of the trials and temptations of the flesh.

Remember, walking in love is not a mere confession, but it’s a practice.

For this reason, the Bible says: “If anyone says, I love God, and hates (detests, abominates) his brother [in Christ], he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, Whom he has not seen. And this command (charge, order, injunction) we have from Him: that he who loves God shall love his brother [believer] also.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:20-21‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Always make walking in God’s love your daily practice!

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
