-Food for thought day 129-

• John 14:9
• John 17:25-26
• 2 Corinthians 3:18

Everyone wants to look like Jesus Christ. This is not something you can ever achieve by yourself. It’s not a positive confession or mental accenting; it’s a conformation to the image of Christ. This is the outward manifestation of an inward character or expression.

When Jesus said: “Philip said to Him, Lord, show us the Father [cause us to see the Father–that is all we ask]; then we shall be satisfied. Jesus replied, Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not recognize and know Me yet, Philip? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say then, Show us the Father?”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:8-9‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

When He said: “… anyone who has seen me, has seen the Father…”. He meant His words and actions were the same as the Father’s as seen in the physical. In other words, the Father is not supposed to be seen because He is all that the Father is and has.

We are here to be all that Jesus Christ is and has. As we continue in His Word and do the very things He asks us to do.

That’s why the Bible says: “For those whom He foreknew [of whom He was aware and loved beforehand], He also destined from the beginning [foreordaining them] to be molded into the image of His Son [and share inwardly His likeness], that He might become the firstborn among many brethren.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:29‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

That inward likeness or character of predominance in Christ is Love.

Jesus Christ prayed: “O just and righteous Father, although the world has not known You and has failed to recognize You and has never acknowledged You, I have known You [continually]; and these men understand and know that You have sent Me. I have made Your Name known to them and revealed Your character and Your very Self, and I will continue to make [You] known, that the love which You have bestowed upon Me may be in them [felt in their hearts] and that I [Myself] may be in them.”
‭‭John‬ ‭17:25-26‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

God’s Character of love was revealed to the disciples of Jesus. Our oneness with Him is in the same love He reveals to us. This is not something that is born by fantasy. We can only manifest that same image of love as fellowship with the indwelling presence of God within us through bible study, prayer and fasting.

“And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Remember, *God is love and therefore so are we*. Also, fellowship with the Holy Spirit will bring about conformation to the image of God’s love.
