And God said to Abraham, As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai; but Sarah [Princess] her name shall be. And I will bless her and give you a son also by her. Yes, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall come from her. Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed and said in his heart, Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a son?”

Abraham laughed because he did not know how can that be possible because he and his wife were both too old to be having intercourses and also the wife has passed menopause.
One thing we should know about God is anything He initiate He brings it into completion or fulfillment.
God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?”

It was not Abraham’s idea to have a child but God’s. And secondly God was the one who said what He said not Abraham. And God is under subjection to His own Word to do what He has promised.

I can imagine how Abraham felt and how hopeless he was in this area. Also, he gave up concerning Sarah being pregnant after doing his best for twenty years to make her pregnant, but all to know avail.
Thus, we thank God because it take Him alone to bring to pass what He has promised. There is nothing to hard for Him. All what we must learn to do is to trust the faithfulness of His word.
Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is there anything too hard for Me?”

If there is nothing to hard for the Lord, then we must bow to His Word whenever He speaks to us and say “so be it”.
