When the servant of the man of God rose early and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was around the city. Elisha’s servant said to him, Alas, my master! What shall we do? [Elisha] answered, Fear not; for those with us are more than those with them. Then Elisha prayed, Lord, I pray You, open his eyes that he may see. And the Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.” 2 Kings 6:15-17 AMPC
The servant was terrified because He had no vision of who God is. Is one thing to walk with a man of God and even go to church everyday and listen to sermons but is another thing all together when God open your eyes to see Him for who He is. We believers have limited God because we don’t really see God as He is. Man was created to understand, know and commune with God . When the eyes of our understanding is not enlightened we expose to the deception of satan and this leaves us in a spiritually weakened position to stand against his wiles.
This is the reason why Paul prayed for his converts as led by the Holy Spirit saying;
[For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places], Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come. And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church], [Ps. 8:6.] Which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete, and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].”
Ephesians 1:17-23 AMPC
Today recite this prayer and make it your daily confession before reading your bible in Jesus name. Amen
