For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).” Romans 5:17 AMP

The Bible says: through the obedience of Jesus Christ we have been called to reign as kings in this life.

In the old testament kings were anointed by the Lord God Almighty to rule. And they only can rule or reign effectively as kings by submitting to God’s plan and purpose for their life and nation.

But my horn (emblem of excessive strength and stately grace) You have exalted like that of a wild ox; I am anointed with fresh oil.” Psalm 92:10 AMP

The same goes for us now. Though, through the obedience of our Lord Jesus Christ we’ve been made to reign as kings in the affairs of this life, we can’t reign without the anointing and absolute submission to God. When we don’t submit, we are like an empty cisterns that hold no water.

For My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the Fountain of living waters, and they have hewn for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns which cannot hold water.” Jeremiah 2:13 AMP

Self-reliance or effort (that is to say: lack of submission) is frustrating the grace of God from working in the lives of many and cause them not to reign in the affairs of this life as kings in Jesus Christ mighty Name.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. I yield to You in all things and I declare in Jesus Name that I am reign in the affairs of this life together with my Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
