You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. [Acts 2:25-28, 31.]” Psalms 16:11 AMP

Most of the time we look for joy from things or people. Now happiness springs forth from the things we receive. For example receiving a gift or appreciation from someone can make you happy for a moment. And this is temporary. But joy which is everlasting and only comes from God Almighty is eternal.

When you have the joy of the Lord you can always be happy and content with your life. Also you can be happy for things you have but not Joyful or satisfied. Due to the fact that satisfaction is God Almighty not things.

When we pray in the Spirit with the help of the Holy Spirit we partake in the Joy of the Lord. He(God Almighty) fills us with His Joy. And causes us to be joyful even in the midst of persecutions or trials.

The Bible says: “Is there any afflicted, let him pray.”

Is anyone among you afflicted (ill-treated, suffering evil)? He should pray. Is anyone glad at heart? He should sing praise [to God].”James 5:13 AMP

Why prayer? It strengthen you to move forward. But this strength springs out of the joy of the Lord.

Then [Ezra] told them, Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet drink, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. And be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold.” Nehemiah 8:10

So we only get joy in God’s presence. And one of the ways is by praying in the Holy Spirit.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. I declare the spirit of joy rules my day as I practice praying in the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
