Jabez was honorable above his brothers; but his mother named him Jabez [sorrow maker], saying, Because I bore him in pain. Jabez cried to the God of Israel, saying, Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and You would keep me from evil so it might not hurt me! And God granted his request.” ‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭4:9-10‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

As long as our dependency is not ourselves but on God we cannot fail. One of the reasons why we can’t fail is that we belong to the body of Christ, called the church, with Jesus Christ Himself as the head of His body. And He guaranteed our victory over all circumstances when he said:

And I tell you, you are Peter [Greek, Petros –a large piece of rock], and on this rock [Greek, petra –a huge rock like Gibraltar] I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (the powers of the infernal region) shall not overpower it [or be strong to its detriment or hold out against it].” Matthew‬ ‭16:18‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Jesus made this bold statement over His Church and we are part of His Church. In other words, He is saying it does not matter what the adversary is trying to do against His body, his counsel, mandate and assignment will not stand or prevail over the counsel of Jesus Christ our Lord and soon coming king.

God wants our faith should stand in the victory we already have in Christ not in our ability.

Jabez trusted God and He changed his story.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, I lean on You and thank You for given to me victory over my circumstances in Christ. I rebuke every satanic suggestion to take me out of my victory in Christ and prophecy victory over my present circumstances in Jesus name. Amen
