For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds, [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), ” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 AMP
Jesus Christ our Lord understood that it’s from within that the enemy attacks us and cause us to compromise the word of God. A good example is from:
And He said, What comes out of a man is what makes a man unclean and renders [him] unhallowed. For from within, [that is] out of the hearts of men, come base and wicked thoughts, sexual immorality, stealing, murder, adultery, Coveting (a greedy desire to have more wealth), dangerous and destructive wickedness, deceit; unrestrained (indecent) conduct; an evil eye (envy), slander (evil speaking, malicious misrepresentation, abusiveness), pride (the sin of an uplifted heart against God and man), foolishness (folly, lack of sense, recklessness, thoughtlessness). All these evil [purposes and desires] come from within, and they make the man unclean and render him unhallowed.” Mark 7:20-23 AMP
So if we’re passive from within in our thoughts we become a prey to temptation from satan and his attacks.
It’s time to watch over our thoughts and refuse to allow the mind of satan which is contrary to God’s mind for us to dominate us.
The thoughts that we permit in our hearts and mind makes us who we are.
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. As one who reckons, he says to you, eat and drink, yet his heart is not with you [but is grudging the cost].” Proverbs 23:7 AMP
