Never return evil for evil or insult for insult (scolding, tongue-lashing, berating), but on the contrary blessing [praying for their welfare, happiness, and protection, and truly pitying and loving them]. For know that to this you have been called, that you may yourselves inherit a blessing [from God–that you may obtain a blessing as heirs, bringing welfare and happiness and protection].” 1 Peter 3:9 AMP

God Almighty does not expect us to use the same tongue that we bless to curse. The enemy uses the offence done to us by men or injustice done to us and he gets us to err. God does not want us to sin with our mouth by returning evil for evil. Our duty is to allow God to deal with our enemies and instead of cursing them we ought to be praying for them.

Bless those who persecute you [who are cruel in their attitude toward you]; bless and do not curse them. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for [God’s] wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay (requite), says the Lord. [Deut. 32:35.] Do not let yourself be overcome by evil, but overcome (master) evil with good.” Romans 12:14 AMP

It’s time for us to watch our tongue and what comes out of it. So that we don’t sin against God Almighty in Jesus Christ mighty name.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. Help me Lord by Your Spirit as take heed and guard my ways, that I may sin not with my tongue and also muzzle my mouth as with a bridle while the wicked are before me so that I won’t err in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
