Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, I will give this land to your posterity. So Abram built an altar there to the Lord, Who had appeared to him.” Genesis 12:7 AMPC

We saw Abraham built an altar to fellowship with God. Now Abraham was a business man and had many employees, but he never allowed his business interfere with his relationship with God.

Now Abram was extremely rich in livestock and in silver and in gold. And he journeyed on from the South [country of Judah, the Negeb] as far as Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai, Where he had built an altar at first; and there Abram called on the name of the Lord. [Gal. 3:6-9.] Genesis 13:2-4 AMPC

Abraham refused to magnify his wealth more than the creator that gave him the wealth. Nowadays we see many people are too busy doing things for God or with their secular jobs and businesses and they spend little or no time to pray and study their Word. They magnify the things they do more than the God that gives them the ability to go on and do the things. These things ought not to be so. God is calling us back to the place of relationship. Where He started with us. God is calling us back to the place of our first love for Him.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. I repent for not making time for You. Help me by Your Spirit to magnify your relationship with me above all other things in my life in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen
