For you say, I am rich; I have prospered and grown wealthy, and I am in need of nothing; and you do not realize and understand that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. [Hos. 12:8.] Therefore I counsel you to purchase from Me gold refined and tested by fire, that you may be [truly] wealthy, and white clothes to clothe you and to keep the shame of your nudity from being seen, and salve to put on your eyes, that you may see.” Revelation 3:17-18 AMP

One of the great deception of this last days is material possession. Many Christians think material possession is a sign of God’s spiritual blessing or spiritual maturity. But most of the time the love for material possession is what is fighting our intimacy with God Almighty. Anything we magnify above God in our lives is idolatry. Now our days we see so much worldliness mixing with the Church of God in Christ and yet we still don’t admit that something is missing in the church.

The answer to what is missing is intimacy with Jesus Christ.
Now the love for worldliness or materialism hinders us to see God for who He is and also to hear God when He calls. This is one of the root cause for spiritual blindness, poverty,wretchedness,pitifulness and nakedness.
Please don’t get me wrong I did not say material possession is wrong but the love of it is Idolatry.

 When we choose intimacy with Jesus Christ above idolatry for materialism we will experience God’s wealth that is making rich and adding no sorrow to our lives.

That’s why Jesus said

 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will eat with him, and he [will eat] with Me.” Revelation 3:20 AMP

 In other words our way out of spiritual blindness ,  slumber and nakedness is intimacy with Jesus Christ our Lord. He daily knocks the door of hearts to be intimate with us but the choice is ours to let Him.
Until we become tired of our present predicament we can’t never behold and take hold of what God Almighty has installed for us.

 That’s why intimacy with God Almighty is important.

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. I open the door of my Heart to you. Help me to open the eyes of my understanding through your Spirit as I yearn for you daily in my Heart in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen
