BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. [Rom. 13:8-10; Gal. 3:1-29; II Tim. 3:16.] And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity]. [Jer. 17:7, 8.]”
Psalm 1:1-3 AMPC
Our reaction towards God and His purpose for our lives comes from the people we fellowship with and what we meditate on.
The people you fellowship with determines your meditation and what you meditate on will either make you a blessing or not. However, we should all know that our meditation are things hidden in our hearts. And what we have in our hearts is expressed through our mouth. Because we are controlled by our meditation .
A great example is Mary the Mother of Jesus. When she embrace the miracle of baby Jesus through her angelic encounter(Luke 1:26-38). Not only did she believe but the Bible says:
But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.”
Luke 2:19 KJV
Mary only become a blessing because she meditated on the word spoken to her by angel Gabriel in their fellowship.
Therefore, the Bible says:
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]. [Matt. 12:37.]” Proverbs 18:21 AMPC
We should all know that no word is void of power. Every word spoken ministers first to the person that is saying it and to the hearers listening to it.
As children of God, He wants us to meditate on His Word. Because it is through God’s Word that we become a blessing or succeed in the affairs of life.
This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.” Joshua 1:8 AMPC
Meditation on God’s word will renew your mind and will change your view of your circumstances and the way you go after the affairs of this life. Our success in life is linked to our meditation.
Also, we should all know that what we all are today is a product of our yesterdays meditation.
I pray that you choose daily the Word of God to be your meditation in Jesus name.
Let’s pray together:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. Help me by Your Spirit to not only believe Your word, but also to make it my day and night meditation in Jesus name. Amen.
