We can’t manifest the character of Christ when we are not alike in thoughts, words and deed. As a matter of fact obeying God has to be in thoughts, words and deed.

When the Word of God says: “And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.”
‭‭
Abraham was blessed because he obeyed God in thought, words and deed.

Therefore, we should follow Christ in this above pattern as our father Abraham.

Paul said to his converts: “PATTERN YOURSELVES after me [follow my example], as I imitate and follow Christ (the Messiah). I appreciate and commend you because you always remember me in everything and keep firm possession of the traditions (the substance of my instructions), just as I have [verbally] passed them on to you.”
‭‭
The emphasis is “as I follow Christ”, that means the impact that Paul made in his ministry is as a result of walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. He even said he was not disobedient to the heavenly vision he received from The Lord.

“Wherefore, O King Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision, But made known openly first of all to those at Damascus, then at Jerusalem and throughout the whole land of Judea, and also among the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works and live lives consistent with and worthy of their repentance.”
‭‭
The key to making impact on our generation is absolute obedience towards God’s mandate for our lives.

Whenever we read God’s Word or read about the Old Testament saints, it’s all for our learning so that we will not be victims of circumstances. It also helps us to be obedient to God.

“Now these things are examples (warnings and admonitions) for us not to desire or crave or covet or lust after evil and carnal things as they did”.

It’s time to be imitators of God. We don’t have to draw near to God with our mouths when our hearts are farther away from Him.

Jesus Christ said: “if you have seen me,then you have seen the Father”. The people in this world are supposed to see Jesus Christ when they look at us, because we are Christ’s representatives here on earth.

Let us all be imitators of God.

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
