The cure for unbelief is prayer and fasting. There are certain situations in our lives that will never change until we begin to give ourselves into prayer and fasting.

Why prayer:
God will do nothing unless we begin to call upon Him to intervene in our circumstances according to His predestined and ordained will for our lives.

That is why Jesus said: “I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father. And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son.”

Presenting all that I AM means, in His authority presenting all that He has already accomplished on our behalf.

For example; we were in debt and someone paid for the debt and also gave extra money for our usage. Our duty is to go to the bank and place a demand for the money deposited on our behalf and also require a document as a proof that we are debt free. That is what is meant by presenting all that Jesus has done on our behalf for our release.

Another question is why fasting:
In life it seems as if we are more connected to the natural world than the spiritual or supernatural world; so when we fast we take our eyes off the natural circumstances, which is the root cause of unbelief and set it on the supernatural. This will help strengthen both our prayer life and our faith in God.

For this reason Jesus said: “………Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God. “

It also enables us to stay focused and take hold of the invisible by causing it to manifest in the natural realm by the power of God’s Spirit in Jesus name.

The strength we receive in prayer and fasting enables us to deal with some special kinds of demons assigned to resist God’s mandate for our lives.

A great example is king Jehoshaphat who fasted and prayed and the Lord turned the captivity of His nation around.

As disciples of Christ, we all have been mandated to pray and fast by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Stay focused!

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
