Today we read:
Jeremiah 50-51
Revelation 13-14

-Food for thought day 298-

• 1 Corinthians 13:5-8
• 1 Corinthians 15:31

Whenever we come short of loving people due to their attitude or actions, it’s a sign to us that human love is limited and that it always fails. Human love is built on self-ego, but God’s love is selfless and unchangeable irrespective of circumstances, that is why it never fails.

“It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth].”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:5-8‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

That’s why our strength for loving people should come from the Author of love, whose love never fails or gets affected by circumstances (Malachi 3:6).

It’s difficult to walk in this dimension of love without being dead of self. We must practice dying daily, to function in the love that never fails (1 Corinthians 15:31). The love that never fails is God’s love in us and we can only function in His love as we daily practice to yield to God’s Spirit.

Remember: we are not born to walk in natural human love, but we are born of God to walk in His love that never fails!

God’s love will never disappoint you!

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
