-Food for thought day 279-

• Genesis 12:1-7
• Matthew 6:33

Loving God will cause you to go after relationship and not after what He has done and still doing in and through your life. A great example is Abraham: God called Abraham out from his father’s house and promised him to be with him and to give him the land he dwells in. Abraham built an altar.

“NOW [in Haran] the Lord said to Abram, Go for yourself [for your own advantage] away from your country, from your relatives and your father’s house, to the land that I will show you. [Heb. 11:8-10.] And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you [with abundant increase of favors] and make your name famous and distinguished, and you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others]. And I will bless those who bless you [who confer prosperity or happiness upon you] and curse him who curses or uses insolent language toward you; in you will all the families and kindred of the earth be blessed [and by you they will bless themselves]. [Gal. 3:8.] So Abram departed, as the Lord had directed him; and Lot [his nephew] went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran. Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the persons [servants] that they had acquired in Haran, and they went forth to go to the land of Canaan. When they came to the land of Canaan, Abram passed through the land to the locality of Shechem, to the oak or terebinth tree of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land. Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, I will give this land to your posterity. So Abram built an altar there to the Lord, Who had appeared to him.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭12:1-7‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Abraham built an altar because he wanted a relationship with God, he did not just want the things God promised to do for him. He made God his priority and not the things God would do for Him.

He brought God to his home and family by making a place to always meet Him in order to commune with Him. As a believer in Christ, you must prioritize your time and agenda and always fight to make time with God. Knowing, God is far beyond the things you receive from Him. Seeking after Him will cause God to introduce Himself to you and also help you know His ways.

The Word of God says: “But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Things will always come on its own when you learn to make God your priority in all you do.

This is a great secret of being a blessing.

Remember: loving God will cause you to chase after relationship, not after things.

Fight for your relationship with God!

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
