-Food for thought day 191-

• Galatians 5:19-24
• ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1‬
• ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:25

The Word of God speaks of the fruit of the Spirit and the works of the flesh.

“Now the doings (practices) of the flesh are clear (obvious): they are immorality, impurity, indecency, Idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger (ill temper), selfishness, divisions (dissensions), party spirit (factions, sects with peculiar opinions, heresies), Envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things, there is no law [that can bring a charge].”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:19-23‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The first fruit of the Spirit is love. That means God’s Love is not something we can produce with our human ability. This is a fruit produced by the Holy Spirit through us as we yield to Him.

That means, whenever we refuse to practice the Word, it will be difficult for us to walk in love. For this reason, many feel condemned because they gratify the deeds of the flesh and not of the Spirit.

“THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. [John 3:18.]”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

When we feel condemned it’s a sign we’re not walking in God’s Love (1 John 3:20-24).

It’s about time we desire to walk in the Spirit so that we will not gratify the works of the flesh.

“If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.]”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:25‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Walking in the Spirit is simply putting the Word of God to work.

God is always willing to produce His Love through us so that we can represent Him well in this world.

Question: Are we willing?

It’s about time we purpose to walk in love because it’s the only law that governs the Kingdom of Christ; walking in God’s Love is fulfilling the law. Therefore practicing God’s Word causes you to automatically walk in love.

Remember: you can’t produce God’s Love without abiding in Him (John 15:4-5).

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
