Bible Study Plan 2019

Today we read:
1 Kings 1-2

-Food for thought day 168-

• Luke 11:5-8

As believers in Christ we must be dependable. In other words, people should be able to count on us when there is no one to rely on because we have God’s Love in us.

“And He said to them, Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and will say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves [of bread], For a friend of mine who is on a journey has just come, and I have nothing to put before him; And he from within will answer, Do not disturb me; the door is now closed, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot get up and supply you [with anything]? I tell you, although he will not get up and supply him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his shameless persistence and insistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭11:5-8‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Every true friendship is build on love and not on benefits. In other words, because you love someone so dearly, that person automatically benefits from all things attached to the love friendship. That is how true love works.

These benefits and sufferings are products of true friendship.

Therefore, the Word of God says: “ …. because he is a friend….”. That word alone speaks volumes. True friendship does not only share benefits but also, have sufferings together. According to our text; for a friend to go to his friend for provision, that means his friend was dependable due to the love his friend has for him.

As a child of God you ought to manifest the Love of God to others, even at our own inconvenience. In such a way that they can depend on you in their trying times. When people realize you love them too much to see them fail, it will cause them to depend on you.

May God’s Love in you cause people to depend on you, knowing you won’t fail them.

Remember: God’s Love is dependable.

Be dependable!

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
