-Food for thought day 142-

• 1 Corinthians 1:23-27
• Jeremiah 13:23

Walking in God’s love does not make sense. How does God ask you to love your enemies and pray for them that persecute you? I know it seems unfair to function like that, because human love has the nature of  “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth”.

That is why the Bible says: “We preach Christ (the Messiah) crucified, [preaching which] to the Jews is a scandal and an offensive stumbling block [that springs a snare or trap], and to the Gentiles it is absurd and utterly unphilosophical nonsense. But to those who are called, whether Jew or Greek (Gentile), Christ [is] the Power of God and the Wisdom of God. [This is] because the foolish thing [that has its source in] God is wiser than men, and the weak thing [that springs] from God is stronger than men. For [simply] consider your own call, brethren; not many [of you were considered to be] wise according to human estimates and standards, not many influential and powerful, not many of high and noble birth. [No] for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:23-27‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The Truth is God’s Word sounds foolish to the so claimed wise in worldly standards, but it carries the power to bring deliverance and set the captives loose from satanic entanglement. That is why God’s Word confounds the wise.

The reason why we must never expect our enemies to love is that they don’t have the God kind of love. Even if they claim to have it, their carnal minds will not permit them to function in it.

It’s funny to ask someone to change their nature when they don’t have the ability to do so.

“Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard his spots? Then also can you do good who are accustomed and taught [even trained] to do evil.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭13:23‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The answer to the above scripture is: No.

This is the reason why God asks you to give your enemies love irrespective of their attitude. It’s only through you that they can receive what they do not have (Jesus Christ) so that their life will change for good.

Don’t focus on the problem, be the solution because walking in love makes you a problem solver in this world.

I urge you by God’s Spirit to always walk in the love of God.

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
