We as believers are supposed to manifest God’s sweet smelling fragrance to all we meet; as we learn to lay down our lives for His glory.

The Bible says: “THEREFORE BE imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]. And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance. [Ezek. 20:41.]”

After the Spirit of God said, ”we should be imitators of God”, He also said “and“ which denotes continuation. The Holy Spirit through Paul said, ”we should esteem and delight in one another”. This means putting the other person’s agenda highly before ours. Laying down our own lives for others to benefit. In other words; be a servant.

It’s impossible to walk in this dimension of God’s love without absolute humility. This is the kind of love that comes to God as a sweet smelling fragrance.

Jesus Christ came on earth to demonstrate this love. That’s why He did not take the form of a king when He came, but the form of a servant. So that through His service many would be translated from darkness to the kingdom of light which is called Christ.

This is the reason why the Word of God says: “Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:] Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!”

Remember, walking in God’s kind of love is a sweet smelling fragrance; not only to God but to those to whom it’s demonstrated.
