-Food for thought day 105-
• John 15:13
• Ephesians 5:1
The love of God is not about “me and me”, it’s about laying down our lives for others to make heaven. We can’t be self-centered and walk in love at the same time.
The love of God is not selfish or self-seeking.
That is why Jesus said: “No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends.”
John 15:13 AMPC
Now Jesus did not lay down His life because He was forced to do so. He did it out of His own free will. As a matter of fact, it pleased Him to do so, because He foresaw that many lives would be transformed as a result of His death.
“For this [reason] the Father loves Me because I lay down My [own] life–to take it back again. No one takes it away from Me. On the contrary, I lay it down voluntarily. [I put it from Myself.] I am authorized and have power to lay it down (to resign it) and I am authorized and have power to take it back again. These are the instructions (orders) which I have received [as My charge] from My Father.”
John 10:17-18 AMPC
If we want to see many lives transformed we must follow the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“THEREFORE BE imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father].”
Ephesians 5:1 AMPC
Remember, love is not self-seeking.
Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
