Today we read:
1 Peter 3-5

-Food for thought 2020 day 44-

Scripture of meditation:
• 1 Timothy 4:8

God always wants to lead you, not sometimes. It’s your duty to put yourself in a position in which He can lead you. This position is called spiritual discipline.

The Word of God says:

“The congregation in Antioch was blessed with a number of prophet-preachers and teachers: Barnabas, Simon, nicknamed Niger, Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen, an advisor to the ruler Herod, Saul. One day as they were worshiping God—they were also fasting as they waited for guidance—the Holy Spirit spoke: “Take Barnabas and Saul and commission them for the work I have called them to do.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭13:1-2‬ ‭MSG‬‬

They were worshipping and fasting when the Holy Spirit spoke to them. When we practice the above spiritual exercise, your spirit man will always be open to hear from God or to be lead by His Spirit.

It’s God’s will to continually lead you to do His will, that’s why you must expect and put yourself in a position for His leadings. Spiritual exercises of this sort will benefit you in this life and also help you to continually walk in God’s purpose and plan for your life.

“But refuse and avoid irreverent legends (profane and impure and godless fictions, mere grandmothers’ tales) and silly myths, and express your disapproval of them. Train yourself toward godliness (piety), [keeping yourself spiritually fit]. For physical training is of some value (useful for a little), but godliness (spiritual training) is useful and of value in everything and in every way, for it holds promise for the present life and also for the life which is to come. This saying is reliable and worthy of complete acceptance by everybody. With a view to this we toil and strive, [yes and] suffer reproach, because we have [fixed our] hope on the living God, Who is the Savior (Preserver, Maintainer, Deliverer) of all men, especially of those who believe (trust in, rely on, and adhere to Him).”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4:7-10‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Being led by the Spirit is not a coincidence, you must come daily under spiritual discipline for you to quickly respond to the Holy Spirit.

Remember: putting yourself in a position to be led by God’s Spirit puts you in the advantage above others.

Be disciplined!!!!

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.

Think and Act!!!!!
