Today we read:
Acts 14-17

– Food for thought 2020 day 188 –

Scripture of meditation:
• 1 Peter 5:5-6

“Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God will always resist the proud or self-sufficient. Those people who think they don’t need God. Promotion is for the humble.

Jesus said: “But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭20:25-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus Christ links promotion to humility. That is why He came to minister and not to be ministered to. He took the position of a servant and as a result of that, He was highly exalted.

If Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior humbled Himself to be exalted, what about us? We must understand God’s way of promoting us is not man’s way.

Thus, for us to be promoted we must follow the example of Jesus Christ and also embrace His way of promotion. Please read Philippians 2:5-8.

Promotion goes with humility!

Remember: humility is the breeding ground of promotion. That’s is why Jesus Christ said: “if anyone wants to be great among you let him be your servant.”

Be Humble!!!!!
