Bible Study Plan 2020

Today we read:
Ephesians 1-2

•‭‭ John‬ ‭8:31-32‬
•‭‭ James‬ ‭1:22-25‬

To be led by God’s Spirit you must continue to study and practice God’s Word. This is what will conform you to the image of Christ as the Word of God renews your mind.

Also, you can say God is leading you without practicing God’s Word. Practicing God’s Word is following Jesus Christ.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:”
‭‭John‬ ‭10:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s not enough to hear God’s Word; it becomes complete when it’s been put into practice. That’s why Jesus said:

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The leading of God’s Spirit becomes easy as you continue in God’s Word; that is what makes you His disciple, because you don’t only hear, but you follow Him.

This is the reason why James by the Holy Spirit said:

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetting what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:22-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Remember: to be led by God’s Spirit, you must hear and do what God is saying to you from the written or spoken Word of God (which will always originate from the written Word).

Be a doer of God’s Word and not a hearer only!!!
