This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.” Joshua 1:8 AMPC

Our actions is directly linked to our thoughts. Meditation is something that man does daily in other to function. When you meet someone that is complaining is as a result of his or her thoughts. It is same with God’s word.  When God’s word is ruling us, we will see ourselves acting in that direction. That’s why God told Joshua to make meditation of His word a lifestyle for Him to live a victorious life.

Experiencing victory is a choice. Is not a coincidence.  Jesus did not defeat the devil by accident or coincidence but He made up His mind and saw Himself winning before the winning was realised. We too must face the adversary with liked mind. That’s why meditation is important.

BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. [Rom. 13:8-10; Gal. 3:1-29; II Tim. 3:16.] And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity]. [Jer. 17:7, 8.]” Psalm 1:1-3 AMPC

Take time this day to make God’s word your priority. Make it a habit to meditate on it. And then act in line with the word. You will start experiencing victory in areas where we have failed.

Victory is a choice.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. Help me by your Spirit to spend time daily  meditating on it. Thank You Lord God Almighty for showing me how to live a victorious life in Jesus name. Amen.
