And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.” Matthew 25:25 KJV
God Almighty has given each every one of us an ability to carry out His great commission mandate. He gave us this gift so that we will be fruitful in what we do. So, if we refuse to do what He expects from us, we make ourselves unprofitable and not fit for His use.
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” John 15:16 KJV
One of the purposes of the gift of God in us is to preach the gospel. You don’t have to preach like the apostles of the book of Acts, but all has been called at some point to preach. The gospel of Jesus Christ will not get to whole world if it is assigned only for the fivefold ministers.
When the early church was born, the gospel spread all over because the disciples won for Jesus Christ were scattered abroad preaching.
And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.” Acts 8:1 KJV
So they gave what they have and that is; the gospel of Jesus Christ. All of us can do that. Don’t let fear, or shame stop you. When you do that, you’re acting like the unprofitable servant. At the end he was cast into hell because he did not do God’s will or use his gift to bless someone.
And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 25:30 KJV
