Why are you cast down, O my inner self? And why should you moan over me and be disquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, Who is the help of my [sad] countenance, and my God.” Psalm 43:5 AMP

Most of the time when we are hurting, the adversary use our mouth to destroy our future. Most hurting people talk out of impulse. They don’t think before they speak. They react towards their hurt by speaking negatively over their situation. But never take any action to change how they feel or open themselves for God’s healing power. So the adversary use the own mouth to entrap them.

You are snared with the words of your lips, you are caught by the speech of your mouth.”Proverbs 6:2 AMP

When we look at the book of Job we will find out that though God Almighty permitted the enemy to attack Job, it was Job responsibility to stay in the hedge (covering) that God placed around Him which is the word of God. But the moment Job start complaining and speaking out of the bitterness and anguish of his heart, based on his affliction. He job opened himself up for defeat.

Have You not put a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have conferred prosperity and happiness upon him in the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. Then Job arose and rent his robe and shaved his head and fell down upon the ground and worshiped And said, Naked (without possessions) came I [into this world] from my mother’s womb, and naked (without possessions) shall I depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed (praised and magnified in worship) be the name of the Lord!” Job 1:10, 20-21 AMP

Hear what Job said “The Lord giveth and taketh.” He could not see this is an attack from the adversary but he blame God Almighty and ignorantly agree with the devil with his mouth.

It’s about time we repent from our idle words spoken out of hurt and ask God’s forgiveness. And also take offensive action against the adversary base on our circumstances.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. Keep the door of my mouth that I may not sin against you in my hurting state. Heal from my wounds in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen
