IF THEN you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. [Ps. 110:1.] And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth. For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians‬ ‭3:1-3‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

We as children of God must be conscious of our now position in Christ in spiritual warfare. The Bible says we are seated together with Christ in heavenly places.

And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).”Ephesians‬ ‭2:6‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

This is the position the devil wanted when he was cast out of the presence of God and that’s why He is very mad.

How have you fallen from heaven, O light-bringer and daystar, son of the morning! How you have been cut down to the ground, you who weakened and laid low the nations [O blasphemous, satanic king of Babylon!] And you said in your heart, I will ascend to heaven; I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit upon the mount of assembly in the uttermost north. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High. Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol (Hades), to the innermost recesses of the pit (the region of the dead).” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭14:12-15‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Our now position in Christ is what is given us authority over him and it has put him under our feet.

Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places], Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come. And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church], [Ps. 8:6.] Which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete, and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].” Ephesians‬ ‭1:20-23‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Remember! The Bible says we’re in Christ and Jesus Christ is the head and we’re the body. That means Satan and all his cohorts are placed under our feet and we have the authority over them.

For this reason God does not want us to come to Satan’s way of thinking through reasoning but He wants us to take our stand in our now position and rebuke Satan in Jesus name.

Satan brings us to a place of reasoning through our circumstances, the persecution from the world and through people to cause us to reason with him. But we must know we’re not the circumstances we face but we are who God is made us or call us to be in Christ. That is why the Bible says:

Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.” ‭Luke‬ ‭10:19‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Today exercise your authority in Christ over the wiles of Satan in Jesus name.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. In the name of Jesus I take authority over (….. for example I take authority over the spirit of infirmity causing cancer in my life and loose health in my body………Call the name of the thing that is troubling you). Bind and loose yourself from it in Jesus name. Amen
