Take [with me] your share of the hardships and suffering [which you are called to endure] as a good (first-class) soldier of Christ Jesus.” ‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:3‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The word endure also means abide under or to bear up courageously under suffering.

And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake, but he who perseveres and endures to the end will be saved [from spiritual disease and death in the world to come].” Matthew‬ ‭10:22‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Salvation is guaranteed to the ones that endure till the end. We should be careful not to lose our spiritual inheritance because we could not bear up courageously the burden of persecution.

Furthermore, our endurance in affliction can cause the salvation of many. For example Apostle Paul suffered many things for preaching the gospel just to get people saved from the eternal wrath to come.

Therefore I [am ready to] persevere and stand my ground with patience and endure everything for the sake of the elect [God’s chosen], so that they too may obtain [the] salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with [the reward of] eternal glory. The saying is sure and worthy of confidence: If we have died with Him, we shall also live with Him. If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny and disown and reject Him, He will also deny and disown and reject us.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭2:10-12‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Paul was so willing to endure till dead so that he will reign with Jesus Christ.

Hence, we should not allow our light affliction to cause us to make a permanent decision over a temporary situation.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, help me by Your spirit to keep enduring in affliction and use it, for the saving of the souls of many in Jesus name. Amen
