Today we read:
Hosea 12-14

The Word of God speaks of brotherly love. The question is what is brotherly love?

“LET LOVE for your fellow believers continue and be a fixed practice with you [never let it fail].”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:1‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Brotherly love is the love, we express to our brothers and sisters in Christ, irrespective of our differences. Every family goes through challenges and also experience glorious moments. The challenges are there to bind us more closely together. The glorious moments cause us to celebrate and rejoice together. And though we are of the same family, that doesn’t mean we think the same; this should not stop us from walking in love towards one another.

“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also [utensils] of wood and earthenware, and some for honorable and noble [use] and some for menial and ignoble [use]. So whoever cleanses himself [from what is ignoble and unclean, who separates himself from contact with contaminating and corrupting influences] will [then himself] be a vessel set apart and useful for honorable and noble purposes, consecrated and profitable to the Master, fit and ready for any good work.”

Your life as a believer in Christ is a reflection of the above text. However, we should still operate in love towards the brethren irrespective of the position each member chooses to occupy. We should never treat anyone with contempt, but cover them in prayer. Show affection towards your brother and sister, knowing we all are of the same family, but having a will of our own, to choose of what kind of vessel we want to reflect in Christ. The brotherly love expressed towards one another makes us a powerful unbroken force.

Paul by the Spirit of God, knowing there is a strong tendency of division because of personality differences, self-portraits or character said: “Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters.”

Remember: God’s love causes us to always walk in brotherly love.
