Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7 KJV

Let us define to submit: One of the definitions means: to agree to obey a rule, a law, or a decision of someone in authority. For example, all countries in the European Union (EU) must submit to its law. Now this is not an opinion it is a word of action. Without these countries submitting to the EU, EU policies will not work for them. So is every country in this world.

The Netherlands is governed by some set of rules. And for us to benefit and enjoy the goods of this country. We must learn to respect the laws of the country. When we practice what the law requires from us, the law itself will keep us and protect us from evil. So are we in the kingdom of God and to God.

Most children of God want to bind and cast out devils. But they don’t want to submit to God. That’s why many are living a defeated born again life. Although Jesus Christ our Lord has already defeated the devil on our behalf and is given us the victory.

No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of [civilian] life; his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him. And if anyone enters competitive games, he is not crowned unless he competes lawfully (fairly, according to the rules laid down).” 2 Timothy 2:4-5 AMP

We are here to satisfy and please God Almighty. And the only way by which we manifest the victory of Jesus in our lives is through submission.

That’s why our main text started by saying submit yourself to God. And the next verse says ” resist the devil”. We most of the time try to reverse the order. Without submitting to God we can’t resist the devil. That is how we strife lawfully to stay champions in Christ Jesus.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. Help me by Your Spirit to submit to You through the leadership that You have put in my life in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
