THEN PAUL, gazing earnestly at the council (Sanhedrin), said, Brethren, I have lived before God, doing my duty with a perfectly good conscience until this very day [as a citizen, a true and loyal Jew]. At this the high priest Ananias ordered those who stood near him to strike him on the mouth. Then Paul said to him, God is about to strike you, you whitewashed wall! Do you sit as a judge to try me in accordance with the Law, and yet in defiance of the Law you order me to be struck? Those who stood near exclaimed, Do you rail at and insult the high priest of God? And Paul said, I was not conscious, brethren, that he was a high priest; for the Scripture says, You shall not speak ill of a ruler of your people. [Exod. 22:28.].” Acts 23:1-5 AMP

We all can admit that it feels (flesh) unfair to submit to unjust authority. And sometimes we want to take matters in our own hands. But that is just a trap of the enemy to destroy our lives. Furthermore, irrespective of the way authority handle us, God Almighty expects us to submit and allow Him be the judge. When we take matters in our hands we make ourselves God and God Almighty can’t do anything with the unjust authority.

Paul was so right with what he said to the high priest base on the way they handle him but in God’s eyes he was wrong. That is why He apologises. We should learn not to interfer with secret spiritual things instituted by God Almighty. Only God alone can handle the authority He placed in His Church.

You shall not revile God [the judges as His agents] or esteem lightly or curse a ruler of your people.” Exodus 22:28 AMP

Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.” Jude 1:8 KJV

It’s not in our place to judge them. These are secret institutes placed by God Almighty in His Church and it’s in His place to discipline them as He pleases.

Who are you to pass judgment on and censure another’s household servant? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he shall stand and be upheld, for the Master (the Lord) is mighty to support him and make him stand.” Romans 14:4 AMP

God expects us to pray for them instead of passing judgment on them. That’s what love will do. For true love of God believes the best out of all things in Jesus Christ mighty name.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. Help us submit to our leaders by praying for them instead of crucifying them in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
