But when the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) comes, Whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth Who comes (proceeds) from the Father, He [Himself] will testify regarding Me.” John 15:26 AMP

When we pray in The Spirit with the help of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit comforts us in whatever distressful situation we are in. That is the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Most of the time we look for comfort from the wrong places, that’s why distress in our lives, which results to spiritual heaviness, never goes away.

Praying in the Spirit will help you to experience comfort from the Holy Spirit in distressful moments.

David was greatly distressed, for the men spoke of stoning him because the souls of them all were bitterly grieved, each man for his sons and daughters. But David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God.” 1 Samuel 30:6 AMP

The Bible says: “David encouraged himself in the Lord his God”. The Bible didn’t say: “David encouraged himself with things or people.” That’s where most people missed it sometimes, because they expect human beings or things to satisfy or comfort them in their distressful moments. No one can truly comfort you more than the Comforter Himself (the Holy Spirit).

Do you need to be comforted? Then give yourself over to the Holy Spirit by praying in The Spirit and He will comfort you.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. I receive comfort today from God Almighty as I practice praying in The Spirit with the help of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ mighty Name, Amen.
