Jabez was honorable above his brothers; but his mother named him Jabez [sorrow maker], saying, Because I bore him in pain. Jabez cried to the God of Israel, saying, Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and You would keep me from evil so it might not hurt me! And God granted his request.” 1 Chronicles 4:9-10 AMPC
How far we want to go with God depends on our willingness to submit to God. We must believe God above all oughts to walk in the realm of abundance that He has for us.
But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].” Hebrews 11:6 AMPC
We must solely rely or depend on God as He helps us to walk with Him . In Romans 12:1-2 the Bible talks of good, acceptable and perfect predetermined plan and purpose of God for our lives. These are all degrees of blessings in our walk with God.That means how far we go with God is determined by our level of consecration or willingness to cooperate into God’s plan and purpose for our lives.
For this reason Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:31 “ I die daily….” so that God’s perfect will, will manifest in his life. In other words he refused to settle for anything less than God’s standard for his life. He refuse to satisfy or succumb the longings of the flesh so that he can be pleasing to God that has enlisted him in His army. He refused to allow a temporary situation, circumstance or a challenge to cause him to make a permanent decision.
We function here on earth by faith of the Son of God not in our own faith. That is why it’s a suicide mission to be engrafted in Christ and still depend on our own ability to solve our personal challenges.
I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” Galatians 2:20 AMPC
For this reason the Word of God says “ trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding……”
The question is how far do want to go with the Lord?
Let’s pray together: Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. Help Your Spirit to go all way with You. I refuse to settle for anything less than Your perfect will for my life in Jesus name. Amen.
