So Jesus added, When you have lifted up the Son of Man [on the cross], you will realize (know, understand) that I am He [for Whom you look] and that I do nothing of Myself (of My own accord or on My own authority), but I say [exactly] what My Father has taught Me. And He Who sent Me is ever with Me; My Father has not left Me alone, for I always do what pleases Him.” John 8:28-29 AMPC

We see our Lord Jesus magnifying His relationship with God Almighty more than any other thing in His life. The statement He made is very clear that Jesus Christ could only function because of His oneness with the Father. His relationship with God Almighty was so precious that He was willing to give up everything for that relationship. The text also makes us to understand Jesus Christ spent more time with God than He did with His disciples. Because He said “I say exactly what I hear my Father is saying.” Now the only way He could say what the Father was saying was by spending time to listen to the Father during prayer when He went alone in a solitary place to pray.

And after He had dismissed the multitudes, He went up into the hills by Himself to pray. When it was evening, He was still there alone.” Matthew 14:23 AMPC

God is missing us in the secret place. The place of prayer and studying of the Word. He wants to communicate His thoughts to us but this can only happen as we magnify our relationship in Jesus Christ mighty name.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. Help by your Spirit to make time alone with you in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen
