God never dwells in the past to qualify our future. He does not want us to do that either. We all have a past. That is we all have made some mistakes in our lives and have also hurt people in this life, conciously or unconsciously. It took the blood of Jesus to wipe it out.
Unforgiveness is causing many not to move forward and many are sick. And doctors are unable to find out the cause of their sickness because of unforgiveness. They keep on dwelling in what people did to them and are unwilling to let go.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
This is the secret of letting go. God Almighty magnifies the now and future, not the past. When you learn not to breathe life in what people have done to you, but choose to accept them for who they’re now and not yesterday. Also believe God’s best for their lives. You will begin to realise that what they did to you have no more power over you.
The devil is the one that doesn’t want you to let go. So he keeps reminding you of what people did to you, in order for him to hold you bound. So learn to say to satan; “That was then and this is now and bind his thoughts and also rebuke him out of your life in Jesus name.”
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.” Luke 23:34 KJV
This is also the secret of apostle Paul in the Bible:
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,” Philippians 3:13 KJV
Paul could only fulfill God’s plan for His life by letting go of yesterday.
