[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]” Philippians 3:10 AMP

There is a difference between the works of Jesus Christ and the person of Jesus Christ.  Intimacy has to do with knowing the person of Jesus Christ not just the acts of Jesus Christ.

Paul the apostle came to a point in His life that He wanted to feel the way Jesus Christ felt even to the point of dying on the cross. He desired knowing Jesus beyond the place of blessing. That is to say what He (Jesus Christ) has done for us.

Sometimes we’re so caught up with the works of Jesus Christ in such a way that we forget He is a person and wants to be intimate with us.

That’s why many gives up especially when their expectations in their own timing from the Lord is not met.

In knowing Jesus Christ intimately, besides the things He has done for us or still doing through us by the power of the Holy Spirit, we must desire to spend time in His presence alone with Him.

When we make time with Jesus Christ.  His ways will be made known to us. And knowing His ways will help us do His will irrespective of the challenges we face in life.

He made known His ways [of righteousness and justice] to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.” Psalms 103:7 AMP

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your word. Help me by Your Spirit to know Your ways not just Your acts in intimacy. In Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
