Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, That ran down upon the beard, Even Aaron’s beard; That came down upon the skirt of his garments; Like the dew of Hermon, That cometh down upon the mountains of Zion: For there Jehovah commanded the blessing, Even life for evermore.”‭‭ Psalms‬ ‭133:1-3‬ ‭ASV‬‬

Walking in unity with the brethren release the blessing and causes us to be a blessing. The devil knows the power of unity that’s why he love to sow seeds of discord among the brethren through offense, envy, jealousy competition, slander, backbiting and pride which has cause many to be religiously exclusive.

It’s our duty as the body of Christ to recognize this strategy of Satan and quit accusing one another or competing with one another but we must strife to be one in the Spirit and in the natural. And learn to celebrate the successes of one another and also be one another brothers keeper. In our oneness we will make more impact in this world than being divided.

That’s why Jesus Christ prayed this prayer:

that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that thou didst send me. And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we are one; I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou lovedst me.”John‬ ‭17:21-23‬ ‭ASV‬‬

It takes the blessing in us who is The Holy Spirit to make us one. He is the one holding the body of Christ together right now. However, we must strife to be one in the Spirit first by choosing to die daily and living a consecrated life before our God ,then can we be united in the natural. This is how Paul the apostle puts it one in his oneness with the Spirit of God.

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ liveth in me: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2:20‬ ‭ASV‬‬

That’s why Jesus said:

And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we are one;”John‬ ‭17:22‬ ‭ASV‬‬

We have to be first united in the “glory” (The Holy Spirit is the glory of God in us) before we can walk in love towards one another and be united with one another.

Today strife for unity with one another as we pray for the Holy Spirit to unite us in Him.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father; I thank You for Your word Help me by Your Spirit to be united with my brethren in the glory and in love in Jesus name. Amen.
