Many have limited God in their lives because they are counting on their own ability.

We were not born again by our ability and God is not depending on what we can do, but He is depending on Himself to make us be what He has promised us.

Zachariah placed a limitation on God and nearly forfeited his miracle because he doubted God’s Word.
The reason why he was dumb for a while is that God did not want Him to open his mouth and say the wrong things.

“And Zachariah said to the angel, By what shall I know and be sure of this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years. And the angel replied to him, I am Gabriel. I stand in the [very] presence of God, and I have been sent to talk to you and to bring you this good news. [Dan. 8:16; 9:21.] Now behold, you will be and will continue to be silent and not able to speak till the day when these things take place, because you have not believed what I told you; but my words are of a kind which will be fulfilled in the appointed and proper time.”

He was relying on his own ability, but God was depending on Himself to make Zachariah become what He called him to be.

“However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.”

The power to change things is of God and not of us. We must yield to that power to see a change in our circumstances.

This is the key to see miracles in our lives.
