-Food for thought day 72-

• Mark 15:34
• Hebrew 13:5-6

God never sleeps nor slumbers. He watches over His children jealously daily. We must not always feel something to know God is with us. He has given us His Word to hold fast to, irrespective of the challenge we maybe in.

The reason why we feel forsaken in trying times is that we expect others to understand us and experience what we’re experiencing. Another thing is, we don’t know that when God is silent it’s not because He has left us, but He is training us to grow up by relying on His Word.

When Jesus said: “And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?–which means, My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me [deserting Me and leaving Me helpless and abandoned]?”

Jesus said what He said due to the agony He felt at that moment. He already knew His mission on earth; at Gethsemane, He agreed with God to die for all in this world. Part of His assignment was to take our sin on Himself and taste death for all; so that all who believe in Him may have life in abundance and live eternally with Him forever.

God has promised never to leave us nor forsake us and He also promised to be with us in trials.

“Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] [Josh. 1:5.] So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?

God wants us to always have this text as our insurance and assurance policy in our moments of weakness.

He also said: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you.”
‭‭
This implies God is in the process with us so that in trials we will come out as pure gold.

We should be excited in trying times because it’s our stepping stone for promotion in God.

Remember, without a test, we will never have a testimony. Examination day is not to kill us it’s to test us to see what we are made up of.

God wants us to experience Him in our trials and not experience the devil.

Today, hold fast to God’s Word concerning your circumstances knowing it will all turn out for your good in Jesus’ Name.

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
