Today we read:
-Food for thought 2020 day 64-
Scripture of meditation:
• 1 Timothy 4:8
We must learn to train our spirit so that we can follow the voice of our spirit called conscience. This is one of the reasons why praying in the Spirit is important.
“For physical training is of some value (useful for a little), but godliness (spiritual training) is useful and of value in everything and in every way, for it holds promise for the present life and also for the life which is to come.”
1 Timothy 4:8 AMPC
When we pray in the Spirit our spirit by the Holy Spirit prays, but our mind is unfruitful. That means, praying in the Spirit gives information to our spirit which our mind doesn’t yet know.
The Word of God says:
“For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit [by the Holy Spirit within me] prays, but my mind is unproductive [it bears no fruit and helps nobody].”
1 Corinthians 14:14 AMPC
That means the Spirit of God lights our candle (our spirit man) when we pray so that the darkness that crowds our mind will be enlightened.
Thus, the Word of God says:
“For You cause my lamp to be lighted and to shine; the Lord my God illumines my darkness.”
Psalm 18:28 AMPC
When our spirit is lighted by the Holy Spirit, our mind will be illuminated (through the Word received by our spirit from the Holy Spirit).
Remember: our mind is only transformed by receiving revelation.
Work out your body, but focus more on your spirit!
Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
