Bible Study Plan 2020

Today we read:
Colossians 2-4

-Food for thought 2020 day 21-

• Romans 8:29
•‭‭ Colossians‬ ‭1:15
•‭‭ 2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:18‬

It’s easy to walk in the Spirit with a mind that is transformed. Your mind needs transformation because it has taken its image from your culture and the principles of this world (Romans 12:1-2). However, we’re here to be conformed to the image of Christ.

“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The word “image” in Greek is “eikon”, which figuratively means: “resemblance”, “representation” or “likeness.” Literally, it means: “statue” or “profile”.

The image in this text is Jesus; the Word of God (John 1:1-4,14) which is Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God.

The Word God says:

“Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This means, as you fellowship with the Word through Bible study and prayer, you’re changed by the Holy Spirit within you to the likeness, resemblance, representation, statue and profile of Christ.

“And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever-increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

You become what you fellowship with. In other words, true fellowship leads to conformation. As you fellowship with God through Bible study and prayer, the Holy Spirit will inject your entire being with the mind of Christ; this will cause you to be easily led by God’s Spirit.

Remember: mind transformation through God’s Word leads to being led by God’s Spirit.

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
