For we who have believed (adhered to and trusted in and relied on God) do enter that rest, in accordance with His declaration that those [who did not believe] should not enter when He said, As I swore in My wrath, They shall not enter My rest; and this He said although [His] works had been completed and prepared [and waiting for all who would believe] from the foundation of the world. [Ps. 95:11.]” Hebrews 4:3 AMPC

To walk in victory we must come to the place of rest so that the Holy Spirit in us can do His job. Rest is a place of absolute trust in God. And that is why praying in the Spirit is vital for our walk with God. It helps us enter the rest of God.

No, but [the Lord will teach the rebels in a more humiliating way] by men with stammering lips and another tongue will He speak to this people [says Isaiah, and teach them His lessons]. To these [complaining Jews the Lord] had said, This is the true rest [the way to true comfort and happiness] that you shall give to the weary, and, This is the [true] refreshing–yet they would not listen [to His teaching].” Isaiah 28:11‭-‬12 AMPC

As long as we focus on the natural we can’t come to the place of rest. Praying in the Spirit will make the Spirit realm distinct to us and will help us focus in the spiritual not the natural.

[It is He] Who has qualified us [making us to be fit and worthy and sufficient] as ministers and dispensers of a new covenant [of salvation through Christ], not [ministers] of the letter (of legally written code) but of the Spirit; for the code [of the Law] kills, but the [Holy] Spirit makes alive. [Jer. 31:31.]” 2 Corinthians 3:6 AMPC

We should learn to trust God and believe that what He says that is what He will do. It’s not in our ability that we see the manifestation of victory is in God’s ability.

God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good? Numbers 23:19 AMPC

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. Help me to always believe Your Word for what it says as I pray in the Spirit in Jesus name. Amen.
