Why are you cast down, O my inner self? And why should you moan over me and be disquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, Who is the help of my [sad] countenance, and my God.” Psalm 43:5 AMP

And the tongue is a fire. [The tongue is a] world of wickedness set among our members, contaminating and depraving the whole body and setting on fire the wheel of birth (the cycle of man’s nature), being itself ignited by hell (Gehenna).” James 3:6 AMP

No word is void of power or empty in itself. Our words first affect us then those that hear it. So our own words can make us or break us. That’s why we must learn to be accountable with what we say always. Most people are still hurting because their words has affected them spiritually, emotionally and physical. We should learn to talk to ourselves going through trying times or when we are hurting or afflicted.

That’s why we see the psalmist speaking to himself to put his hope and trust in God. So we should watch our words not only when we are hurting but always.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. Help me by Your Spirit to be accountable for my words always and help me to speak Your Word to my ownselve in my pain in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
