…though I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so: circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee; concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death” Philippians 3:4-10

God walks with people who have chosen to lay down their human labels, in order to receive what God Almighty has for them. As a matter of fact, there is only one captain that steers the boat at a given time not two. And all in the boat have to submit to the leadings of their captain. So is Jesus Christ our Lord also to us.

For Paul to know who Jesus really is, he had to forget what he thought he knew. He laid down his title, position and refuse to identify to self-justification for him to know Jesus Christ our Lord. If Paul, a great man of God, came to a place of humility to know Christ Jesus, then we as well need to learn to do the same. God never needs people who already think they know.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:29

The first part of the above text says: “…Learn of me.” You are the one who has to learn of God, it is not the other way around. But you can’t learn about God Almighty if you refuse to open up yourself to Him and do not allow Him to educate you.

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.” Philippians 2:5-7

Servants receive instructions and education from their masters in order for them to excel in life. Today, make up your mind and allow God Almighty to educate you through the Precious Holy Spirit in Jesus Name.

Let’s pray together and confess with me out loud:

Heavenly Father,

Forgive me for my pride and arrogance. Let the Blood of Jesus Christ cleans me from all my sins. I lay down what I think I know and humble myself at Your feet. Please teach me Your Word and let the living Christ Jesus be made known to me in Jesus name. Amen
