And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.’ ” Job 28:28
Most people only want to obey God Almighty when His instructions make sense to their mind. Spiritual laws are completely contrary to natural laws. The Word of God is spiritually discern not carnally discern. We all were train in school to understand things before practicing it. But with God Almighty is it the opposite. He trains us as we practice what He tells us. So if you are waiting for God’s Word to make sense to your mind before you practice it. Then you will be frustrated.
The last part of our above text says; “…And to depart from evil is understanding.”
So understanding comes only after doing what God is telling you to do. Please read Genesis 22:1-18. When God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, it did not make sense why God should say such a thing.
And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.” Genesis 15:4
So God spoke to Abraham about Isaac that would be his heir. But the same God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac. That doesn’t make sense to our natural human mind.
Abraham faith was tried and tested through His obedience to God, for him to be qualified for the blessings of God Almighty. Though he was blessed by God already. Abraham did not know that God have a substitute in the place of Isaac. If he refuse to obey God, he will never understand God’s plan for his life. If you take a walk through the bible you would see the same with Noah, Joshua, Moses, Paul and many others that God Almighty walk with. All of them only have gotten understanding when they obeyed God and did what He required from them.
The reason why we see a lot of bible quoters but no power in their messages is because they are still doing things with their natural human understanding.
always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” II Timothy 3:7
The truth of God’s Word is only communicated to the ones who obey God by practicing what He tells them to do. That is the only way you get understanding in your mind.
Today don’t let your mind shut you out. Start practicing What God Almighty is saying to you and God’s understanding will come to your mind. Before you know it you are making a moment to moment progress in your relationship with God.

Heavenly Father,
I come under divine authority of the blood of Jesus Christ My Lord. I choose to obey you from now henceforth. Even though it does not make sense in my mind. Help me Lord to obey You without questioning.
